ABOUT ALPHA BETA LAMBDA

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

William H. French III

PRESIDENT’S WELCOME AND GREETINGS

Greetings Brothers, Friends and Allies of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
It is with great elation that I welcome you to the 124th House of the most prestigious Fraternity. My name is William H. French, III. I’m the current president of the Alpha Beta Lambda Chapter, Lexington, KY. As we are 96 years old, we are a chapter committed to our Fraternity’s motto “First Of All, Servants Of All, We Shall Transend All”

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was founded on December 4, 1906, at Cornell University by seven college men who met the challenge at an Ivy League collegiate institution to do the impossible of founding the first Black college fraternity. These seven college scholars are known in our Fraternity as the Jewels of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. From these beginnings, Alpha Men have recognized the need for a strong bond of brotherhood in the African American community. Alpha Beta Lambda will and have always been engaged with our community here in Lexington and central Kentucky; empowering citizens to stand up and be included in decisions that affect our growing community. We are proud to serve our community with the conviction of improving conditions of not only African Americans, but all persons who are left out of, or have lost hope in the American dream!

Alpha Beta Lambda will strategically plan to work in community building efforts, civic engagement, and educational support initiatives to the betterment of our city and surrounding areas. Our priority is to always be at the forefront of positive change and goodwill. Again Welcome…

To our loyal friends, thank you for your unwavering support. To first-time visitors to our website, please come to our events, meet our members, and engage with the Brothers. Thanks for your support in advance. Please reach out to us at the bottom of the website Home page.

I leave you with my favorite quote from Brother Thurgood Marshall:
“Equal Means Getting The Same Thing, At The Same Time And In The Same Place” (“The Case Thurgood Marshall Never Forgot – Smithsonian Magazine”)

Sincerely,

William H. French, III

President
